Faculty of Commerce and Trade: A Business School to be Built upon the Knowledge Triangle

Founded in 2021, the Faculty of Commerce and Trade will build its foundation on a knowledge triangle, with continuous innovation as a key component of our mission. Degrees are defined in collaboration with partner industries and companies; thus, graduation is conditioned to passing industrial placements and internships. Originating from an extroverted Iranian-Islamic context, FCT aims to become an internationally connected business school

Goals and missions of the school:

Based on the demand-oriented approach and the needs of industry and society, this faculty has defined its scope and level of action on the international trade, digital commerce, and commercial ecosystem of the country, including export and import, purchasing management systems, the country's commercial system, wholesale and retail sales, commercial and commercial services, and so on

The key stakeholders of this faculty are:

1) Persons and strategic organizations who are influential in the trade and commerce chain (Members of Parliament, senior managers of customs, senior managers of the Tax Administration, board members of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Planning and Budget Organization, Central Bank, importers and exporters associations, petrochemicals and refineries, and entrepreneurs); 2) businessmen at the country level; 3) government (from the Cabinet members and ministries to non-profit organizations); 4) faculty internal staff (faculty members, employees, and students of the faculty and other faculties); 5) society (public opinions); 6) public and specialized media.

The two-year goal setting of the faculty is to create a strategic alliance with influential institutions and hold regular and productive dialogue with the above-mentioned stakeholders, especially following organizations:

Tax Affairs Organization

Customs of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Iran Chamber of Commerce (to provide services to merchants)

Ministry of Mining Industry and Trade (focusing on the field of trade)

Ministry of Economy and Finance (focusing on taxation)

Program and budget organization

International Exhibitions Company of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Faculty perspective:

In addition to playing the role of an intermediary between the private and public sector and providing a platform for joint scientific cooperation with scientific language, this faculty seeks to guide and train elites according to the needs of the stakeholders and commercial ecosystem of the country in fields such as international trade, international commercial law, export and import, purchasing system, wholesale and retail sales, domestic and international supply chain, commercial services and ecosystem (tax, financial services, banking, etc.), domestic and international contracts and payments, policymaking and commercial diplomacy, domestic and international business analysis, etc.
