Department goals:
International communication and active diplomacy based on the principles of wisdom and practicality are among the components of the power of the Islamic Republic of Iran and are also among the elements of creating prosperity and economic growth for the noble people of Iran. An essential aspect of these relations is the extensive economic relations with the countries of the world in such a way as to provide the possibility of exporting Iran's capabilities to the world markets and at the same time providing the key needs of the country from foreign sources. Introversion and extroversion of the economy, or in other words, maintaining independence and avoiding dependence while creating economic solidarity with other countries in the world, will be an important factor in maintaining the authority and national security of our country and establishing stability and peace in the region. In this regard, and in order to develop foreign trade and international economic cooperation, it is necessary to train private sector practitioners and government agents at the international level. At the same time, issues and opportunities in the field of foreign trade are subjected to research and scientific studies. Moreover, the University of Tehran as a platform can be more leveraged to solve the problems of the private sector in the field of foreign trade and take advantage of the opportunities in this field. Feeling the need in this field, the Department of International Trade has been established in the Faculty of Commerce and Trade, and most of the related fields, including international trade, foreign investment, international management, commercial diplomacy, and international trade law, are focused and paid attention to.
The main goals of this group can be presented as follows;
• Being introduced as a scientific and technical reference in the field of international trade at national and regional level
• Effective participation in national policy-making processes of the country in the field of international trade and commerce
• Playing a central and leading role in the process of training specialists in the field of international trade, commercial diplomacy, international management, and international trade law familiar with knowledge and practices and the latest international experiences and standards.
The mission of the group
• Manage and implement the field of customs affairs management at the undergraduate level and business management majors of international trade and international trade in two majors of commercial diplomacy and export and import marketing at the master's level.
• Providing educational, research, and consulting services in the field of trade and international trade, commercial diplomacy, and international trade law.
• Effective networking with active private and public sectors inside and outside the country
• Management and implementation of projects and fundamental and applied research in various fields of trade and international commerce, international management, and international trade law.
